- Communications Committee
The Communications Committee has the responsibility of issuing the newsletter, maintaining the web page and issuing, from time to time, whatever other information or communication deemed appropriate to chapter business. This committee will have the Chapter Administrator as a standing member to assist with this process. The Communications Committee will ensure that it communicates on a monthly basis with each committee chair to ensure regular committee communication updates are made to the membership. The communications committee is charged with ensuring that each committee’s communication is consistent.
-
Education Committee
The Education Committee is charged with providing educational opportunities to all members through educational programs, student scholarships and member professional development grant programs. It will develop new educational programs and/or seminars as necessary to have a fully rounded educational program for this chapter. The Education Committee will work with the Program Committee to ensure that member educational needs are addressed. Sub-components may include a Student Committee, the CFM Review, Scholarship Awards and Professional Development.
- Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is charged with attracting new members as well as membership retention. It will provide new members an easy acclimation and welcome them to the organization. This committee is also in charge of sending out a potential member packet to ‘potential’ new members.
- Program Committee
The Program Committee is charged with providing a monthly program for the members a minimum of eight times per year. The program committee is in charge of setting up the details of each event including, location, directions, parking, food, audio visual equipment and arrangements for a speaker. An event invitation should be sent out approximately 4 weeks prior to the event. The Program Committee will work with the Education Committee to insure that educational needs are addressed with the focus on the nine core competencies.
- Seminar Committee
The Seminar Committee is in charge of a joint meeting referred to as the Tri-Chapter Symposium. This event is normally held the second week in May each year. This committee is unique in that it works closely with corresponding committees of the other two Wisconsin Chapters – Green Bay and Madison. The event rotates from Milwaukee to Green Bay to Madison in a three year cycle. The host chapter tends to contribute the majority of the work involved in planning and organizing each annual event. The committee’s activities consist of: selection of a facility where the event will take place; picking a date and time for the event; locating speakers (generally 10-12) and selecting the topics that they will cover; audio-visual needs of the speakers; menus for breakfast, lunch and breaks; handouts; developing a budget, tracking payments and communicating with chapter members.
- Service Committee
The Service Committee is charged with ensuring that there are chapter community service opportunities for all members. It will be responsible for overseeing the community involvement event and organizing sign-up and details of each event. This committee normally has 5-10 service event opportunities each year for Chapter members.
- Associates Committee
The focus of the Associates Committee is to provide opportunities for Associate members to meet and network with the Professional membership. The committee plans and organizes an annual appreciation event for the Professional members. Recruiting new professional members is an ongoing goal. Associate members meet regularly with many facilities people who are not affiliated with IFMA, and are in an ideal position to introduce them to our organization.
