Mark Sekula, CFM, and Cornel Rosario, CFM, both long-time members of the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of IFMA, are writing a book.  It’s called The Facility Manager’s Field Guide, and it has been written for people who are responsible for FM services in small-to medium-size companies, but who may not be grizzled FM professionals.

The Facility Manager’s Field Guide is a convenient, portable, comprehensive guide that covers the most common FM activities in a straightforward manner.  The topic chapters are organized alphabetically – ranging from ADA, Building Maintenance and Cabling, to Purchasing, Space Planning and Voice over IP.

The Facility Manager’s Field Guide is written for facility managers in companies ranging from perhaps 5,000 square feet to 100,000 square feet in size.  FM could be their principal responsibility or a part of their overall responsibilities. FM services are integral to every company, regardless of size.  This book will help the facility manager to provide these services to their company effectively and efficiently

In addition, an associated website will include bulleted lists, outlines, forms and templates that will further enable the reader to fulfill their FM responsibilities quickly and efficiently without having to “reinvent the wheel”.  And for even more information, there is a list of references at the end of each chapter.

Teena Shouse, former Chair of IFMA, and current Chair of Global FM, has kindly consented to write the Foreword to this book, which will be available later this year on www.amazon.com.
