Cornel Rosario publishes 2nd Holy Hill Book!

“Holy Hill – A Sacred & Majestic Place”, was released at the Holy Hill Gift Store on October 1, replacing the 1987 “Holy Hill – Its History” booklet by Mary Kearns.

The updated version was edited by Cornel Rosario, a long-time member of the SEW Chapter of IFMA. It takes the reader through a brief history of the formation of the Hill and the three shrines that have been built in succession on its summit since 1863.
 
A tour of the vast grounds follows, taking readers past various statues, grottos and the life-size Stations of the Cross.
 
The original Carmelite fathers arrived at Holy Hill in 1906 and their Order has been caring for the property and ministering to the locals and pilgrims alike ever since.
 
Details of the upper and lower churches and the magnificent stained-glass windows follow. Major repairs and renovations were performed during the period 2002 through 2008. The booklet concludes with an FAQ chapter with questions ranging from “What is a Basilica?” to “Did Mary ever appear at Holy Hill?”.
 
“Holy Hill – A Sacred & Majestic Place” is beautifully illustrated, with over 50 color and black-and-white photos.
